Produced by Oprah Winfrey, the lush, but down to earth movie based on the novel by Zora Neale Hurston 1937. Set in rural Florida, the story begins several years of emancipation. Janie (Halle Berry Soul) is a dreamy eyes of a teenager who has never known his parents. He was raised by a bitter Nanny (Ruby Dee), an ex-slave who marries an older man of him a minute you get a chance. Mr. Killicks Janie worked as a dog, but otherwise leave it alone (it is an abuse of the book). Then Jack meets educated, Joe (Ruben Santiago-Hudson's Lackawanna Blues), who steals from the stack and the black township of Eatonville. Two of the procedure to change the patch of dirt the city into a real community. Along the way, Joe, Jack and the mayor just a helper. In addition to his friend Phoeby (Nicki Micheaux), city dwellers are confused presumption of his pain, and you end up more alone than ever.
